The Caledonian Reelers is a Scottish Country Dance and Ceilidh band from
Essex. Over the years the band has built a solid reputation through 'word
of
mouth' recommendations
within
the Scottish dance club fraternity -- members of such communities in the South
East of England know the genuine article when they hear it ! The band are booked -- and re-booked -- for their quality and for the authentic style of their traditional Scottish
music and dances, in the Scottish Country Dance tradition.
The traditional Scottish style line-up for this three-piece band comprises accordion, fiddle and drums.and, with their own caller to guide both beginners and refresh the memories for others, the band will happily take you through all the familiar Scottish ceilidh dances up to the 'Eightsome Reel' level (and beyond if requested )
However,the band are also willing to adapt the dances to be slightly less
complicated if preferred -- but still provide the same exacting standard of
authentic Scottish traditional music which has become known and loved in all
corners of the globe. And -- of course -- they will dress to suit the occasion.
Naturally, this makes the band a popular choice at wedding receptions and similar
gatherings,
where a genuine Scottish style of music and dance is preferred.
